Update on Stanton Schools Closure as of April 3rd!
April 3, 2020
Dear Stanton School Community
Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds announced yesterday the recommendation that Iowa school districts extend the school closure through April 30th.
The Stanton Community School District will follow this recommendation, and I hope that we can re-open school on Friday, May 1, 2020.
Of course, we will need to be prepared to close for the remainder of the school year if that is advised at a later date due to the status of the pandemic and based on local requirements for social distancing. The final decision on if we will return to school will be made hopefully in late April. I hope all of you are staying healthy and safe.
Currently, Stanton is providing voluntary continuous learning to students. Administration is comparing the two options (voluntary and required) and will make any different decision if needed. In the meantime, please strongly encourage students to continue with the online work opportunities and/or student packets.
Prom has been postponed at this time. We will notify you once a date has been selected or a decision to cancel has been made.
Please stay healthy and well.
Stanton Administration
