Santa Lucia Festival 2016
Congratulations to the 65th Santa Lucia Queen Libby and her Court. Santa Lucia took place on Saturday, December 10, 2016 with a large crowd present. The day started with the girls rising early and making breakfast for their families. They then went caroling and delivered cookies to shut ins around town and local Care Centers.
Through out the day, over 250 residents made sure they headed to the Senior Citizen Center to place their vote for the queen. At the ceremony Saturday night, Mayor Kirk Requist turned on the ceremonial light, to the signify the start of the Christmas season in Stanton. Everyone was entertained with a skit, with the elementary singers and dancers also preforming. The night was capped off with the presentation of the Queen and her Court, then everyone gathered for Coffee and cookies in the concourse.
