JUNE 12, 2017, SPECIAL BOARD MEETING
The Stanton School District Board of Directors met at 5:30 PM on Monday, June 12, 2017, at City Hall for a special session. President Brian Bates called the meeting to order with Directors Mark Lindgren, Paul Vanderholm, and Tom Weis present. Additional attendees were Superintendent Chris Herrick and Board Secretary Tammy Boyer.
SPECIAL PRESENTATION-ENVIRONMENTAL SYSTEMS RESEARCH INSTITUTE
Mr. Kevin Cabbage, General Manager of Farmers Mutual Telephone Company, introduced Mr. Jim Thomas, Business Specialist of Iowa Economic Development Authority, who presented a pilot program for Stanton and 5 other surrounding communities to participate in to draw people in to live in the community. He presented many facts about Stanton’s housing, income, household size and asked the question, “How do you make Stanton a community of choice?” The next meeting for the community to discuss this issue will be held on June 20, 2017, at the Viking Center.
ADJOURNMENT
President Bates adjourned the meeting at 6:41 PM. The next regular meeting for the board is set for June 21, 2017 at 5:30 PM in the Board Room.
